Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure will not have its DCA premiere before Summer 2011

Breaking News: We were all expecting its opening for early May but, bad news, as Disney announced today that Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Undersea Adventure will NOT have its DCA premiere before Summer 2011. They also announced that Star Tours 2 will not open before June. Chances are that both highly awaited attractions will have their premiere at the same time, including, too, the new Disneyland Mickey’s Soundsational Parade. This is probably due to the big POTC 4 premiere event which will happen at DL in May and Disney probably thought that having two major events at DL the same month was not a good idea on a marketing point of view.

I thought you said this blog was not going to be updated anymore, but I still see new stuff appearing here. I am not complaining as I love it. But why the change of heart? I love seeing your articles and that Space Mountain Paris documentary was amazing. In Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 there are people who make custom scenery and a guy that goes by the name of Gadget made a fantastic version of the ride with moving cannon parts and detail that is just incredible. I added a Roller Coaster to it and fixed up the inside of the mountain and put in Planets and Asteroids as well. I have it in an Ultimate Disneyland version I am working on that has stuff from many Disney Parks all in one.

It's probably not so much from a marketing point of view but a logistical one. Having three big premiere events at one time would be overwhelming, overly complicated and would probably lead to mass confusion and too overwhelming crowds.
