Star Tours Update Coming at Disneyland Paris for DLP 25th Anniversary in 2017 ?

A Forbes article titled "Disney Planning New Star Wars Attraction For Paris Park" seems to confirm that Disneyland Paris is planning to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2017 "by making major investments including the installation of a new attraction themed to the Star Wars movie series.

So far it seems that it's still not about a Star Wars land for Discoveryland but the update of Star Tours which is now more than 20 years old at DLP.

“We are looking at updating Star Tours at the moment,” says Björn Heerwagen, show design and production manager for Euro Disney’s design division which is known as Imagineering “We are looking at rehabilitations of the first gate. It’s been there for 20 years. We want to do some special stuff for the 25th anniversary as well.”

It follows Disney chief executive Bob Iger saying last month that “when we grow ‘Star Wars” presence, which we will do significantly, you will see better bets being made that will pay off for us than were made in the past.”

So, it seems that we can count on the Star Tours Update for 2017 and DLP 25th Anniversary!

Tom Staggs Announces Frozen Attraction Coming To Epcot , Norway Pavilion Maelstrom Ride Will Close October 5

It's official, Tom Staggs announced today that a Frozen attraction is coming to Epcot, and as the rumor said it, it will be in the Norway pavilion, the Maelstrom attraction will close October 5. Here is the full statement of Tom Staggs from The Disney Parks Blog, and Tom also announced more about Frozen:

"When Walt Disney promised that Disneyland would never be completed, so long as there is imagination left in the world, he made a promise to our guests that we take seriously at all our locations around the world. This year, one particular product of imagination — Disney Animation’s blockbuster hit “Frozen” — captured the hearts and minds of people around the world and gave us a new opportunity to make good on Walt’s pledge.
We’ve made “Frozen” a part of the guest experience in a number of ways already and our guests have both loved them and asked for more. So I’m pleased to say that we’re starting construction at Walt Disney World Resort on a brand new “Frozen” attraction at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot. The new attraction, which replaces Maelstrom, will take our guests to Arendelle and immerse them in many of their favorite moments and music from the film. The pavilion will also include a royal greeting location where Anna and Elsa can meet our guests. We think these “Frozen” elements are great complements to the Norway Pavilion, which showcases the country and region that inspired the film.

“Frozen’s” popular characters will also have a bigger presence at Magic Kingdom Park this holiday season. In addition to the ongoing character appearances, Queen Elsa will use her powers to transform Cinderella Castle into an ice palace every night starting in early November. And Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party-goers can see Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf in “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.”

We’re extending some favorite elements of Frozen Summer Fun LIVE!, too, so that guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can continue singing along to “Frozen” songs with Queen Elsa and Princess Anna. Wandering Oaken’s will set up shop closer to the show through the holiday season and will feature a larger play area with real snow (in Florida!).
From the moment we screened the film several months before its release, we were inspired by the possibility of bringing this great story to life for our guests. Frozen Summer Fun LIVE! has been extremely popular, and now we’re looking forward to doing even more to allow our guests to experience the “Frozen” phenomenon."

Disney Paint The Night Parade Premiere at Hong Kong Disneyland - Full Show Videos !

Hong Kong Disneyland celebrates its 9th Anniversary tomorrow Sept 12 and the highly awaited Disney Paint The Night night parade created by Steve Davison premiered tonight at HKDL! Thanks to Michael20183 we have the first video showing the full show and i think that Steve Davison and his team did a great work in creating what we could call an "Electrical Parade of the 21st Century" - you'll hear at the start the music theme of Main Street Electrical Parade as well as during the rest of the parade, here with a modern musical arrangement. there is plenty of great projection effects - in addition to myriads of lights - and have a closer look at King Triton's face on the Little Mermaid float as i'm pretty sure he has a retro projection effect on his face!

I know you can't wait to discover this new night parade which, i remind you, is also rumored to come at Disneyland Anaheim for the park 60th Anniversary. The whole thing has been designed elegantly so i'm pretty sure everyone will love it. One more thing about the interactive part with guests "painting" the parade with their paint light brush: it's hard to see on the video how it works and IF it works but the parade is such a pleasure to look at and to listen to with its dynamic theme that it's not a problem. Go ahead, watch the video!

Edited: I've added the first video below which shows the parade in Main Street and you'll see the parade units even better than on the other video.

You also have below screen captures of the main floats starting by Tinkerbell who open the parade...

A last picture of the parade kit for the guests including a T-shirt and the light brush!

Disneyland Paris Update Part Three : DLP Hotels Renovations

As promised, here is the part three of my Disneyland Paris update and this time we will have a look to the hotels refurbishments as some of they really needed it. As usual let's thanks Max Fan, D&M contributor and DLPWelcome webmaster for his great pictures.

Let's start with the big works on the NewPort Bay Club where works progresses on the facades which were in pretty bad condition. The fences surrounding restaurants are down and half of the hotel is still under major renovation with no big changes since one month. Works are also going on inside but with no access available Max couldn't shoot pictures but we should have them soon.

Hotel restaurants are also in renovation with a new floor and new interior decorations. To replace the closure points restorations in the hotel the Convention Center was requisitioned to become the only restaurant with buffet.

Yes, folks, that's how dirty the facade was and it was about time that they did a complete renovation.

Let's move to the Sequoia Lodge nearby and our on way we notice sheep which are there to graze the grass! Yes, real sheep, that' show DLP more eco-friendly than ever is doing currently.

The Sequoia Lodge has already been through its renovation and there is nothing special about it but it's always a pleasure to walk through the hotel and the landscape where real sequoias were planted a long time ago.

At the Cheyenne Hotel nothing has changed except the renovation of the roads, and the construction of the area surrounding the vegetable garden from which are coming the vegetables used for the Ratatouille served at Bistro Chez Remy .

The Santa Fe Hotel nearby also had a renovation which is now over and the outdoor vegetation was changed a bit and now fits better with the new theme, inspired by Pixar Cars.

Thanks God, the landed flying saucer is always here!

And that's it for today, folks! I remind you that i will be in Paris a big part of September which is a good news for those of you who want to order my Disneyland Paris "From Sketch to Reality" book and would like to have a signed copy dedicated specially for them.
